Jacket - Nicole Miller
Shirt - Zara
Boots - Zara

I'd like to take a minute to appreciate and share about this incredible leather jacket.  I first made eye contact (haa....sorry) with it at the Nicole Miller showroom... and it was hard to stop looking.  After a bit of interrogation, I found out that it is one-of-a-kind, meaning you won't be able to find this in any stores.  But if you do really want to get your hands on it, you can check out the Jeffrey Fashion Cares event on April 3rd where they will be auctioning the jacket off in order to raise money to support the LGBT community.  I was certainly sad to hear that this was the only jacket made, but do check out their amazing "Artelier" jacket which I also fell in love with when I saw it up close (leather quality and stitching is impeccable).

Since embellished jackets are such a big trend right now, I've additionally listed several (seriously amazing) on-trend options below, with both real and faux leather options and at some really great price points.  These are so much fun for the spring and will carry you through 'til fall, so it's hard not to justify a purchase like this.

Happy Friday!

It's finally here! The season of blooming flowers, brighter colors, and warmer temps.  As always, my favorite trick for transitional weather is layers.  One way people don't think about using this trick though, is with outer wear.  I threw a vest over my jacket for a fun look that kept me warm- but was just enough when I was standing in the bright sun.

I think this season is also most fun for playing with accessories, because you can wear all different shoes and hats which aren't limited to those made to protect from the cold and windy weather.  I've been wearing these boots quite a bit because they are so versatile, and by the way - slouchy boots have been all over the runway so this trend will be around for a while, and therefore worth spending a little more on.

Looking forward to creating more fun looks for the season, anything to get me out of this dreary winter mindset!  What do you look forward to this season?  I always love to hear new styling ideas.

Happy Spring!

Dress - Yumi Kim
Cuff - Alexis Bittar
Choker - Aldo

There's the classic little black dress... And there's the out-of-the-ordinary beautiful black dress.  This one is nowhere near plain or everyday.  This is one you put on to stand out and feel sexy, while remaining understated and classy.  The wrap style flatters, and the material flows with your step.  I think everyone needs one of these for that special occasion, or several.  A simple choker would suffice as an accessory with a dress like this.  It's a beautiful way to try out the slip-dress trend.

Sweatshirt/skirt/boots - Zara

A valuable styling trick, both functional and on-trend, layering is especially necessary in this very moody and unpredictable weather we are currently experiencing.  So you might as well embrace it and learn to do so stylishly.

The beauty of it is that you can play with so many shapes and colors, textures, that the possibilities are infinite.  You can choose a couple of different hues to create a colorblock look like I did, you can mix prints, or go monochrome (see my last post!).

I have to admit: I cheated a bit here.  This sweatshirt/white shirt combo is actually one top!   I found it at Zara but I've linked several options below for you to shop, as well as some burgundy knee-high boot options- another trend not going away anytime soon.

Also, the lipcolor is a mix of Vampy and Bold Berry Velvet Matte Lipstick from e.l.f.! I wanted to share this because it was a very unexpected combination I tried last minute and I love how it came out.  Not to mention the amazing smooth and creamy texture of this lipstick.  Seriously.  Trust me on this one.  At only 3 bucks a pop (yes three!!), why not grab a new color or two for the weekend? Live a little.  It's small luxuries like this that make my week.

So... the moral of today's blog post is *layering* if you didn't already get that.  Layer the clothes and layer the lips.  Discover winning combinations.  Then come back and share them with me. ;)

Happy friday!

Monochromatic Match

Coat - Asos
Pants & Shoes - Zara

The month always flies by when fashion week is happening.  Lots of energy goes into prep and organizing, then the shows happen, and before we know it, February is almost over.  I saw a lot of great collections this season, and use this time as a source of renewed inspiration in the middle of a sometimes discouragingly cold winter.

One of the events I often look forward to aside from shows is mingling with my fellow influencers at the Shopstyle Social House.  As busy as we all are during this week, this is a time when we can all come together and take a little time out to catch up with each other and unwind a bit.  Not to mention having the privilege to go out for a shoot with the stunning & talented Candice Lake.  Alongside with her was also photographer Jason Jean.  I was out with Courtney of Color Me Courtney and Annabelle of Viva Luxury, and Courtney and I happened to be head-to-toe in pastels! It was a perfect duo of monochromatic color-coordination, and such a fun experience shooting with everyone.

Monochrome is one of my favorite styles (I want to say trends, but it is timeless) to wear because it's a simple way to make a big statement.  You don't have to think much about color coordination or matching patterns since it's all the same - just pick a color and find your pieces.

I've listed several options below to help you jumpstart a baby-blue monochromatic look of your own, but you can choose any color you like of course.  Have fun with it!
