I wandered off for a city escape and found a secret garden. Not sure how I stumbled upon the place, perhaps it called for the flowers on my dress to come along and play.

This is one of my favorite summer dresses for playing in the sun. It was a find at an Elizabeth & James sample sale, and I was immediately attracted to it's delicate ruffles and colorful flowers, its gold chain straps and pearl button accents. I pair it with my simple flat sandals, as the dress always speaks for itself. The light material and gold accents make it perfect for a summer wedding, a party on the beach, or a hop and a skip to a secret flower-filled garden.

Went for a walk in the park and found this handsome, lively bull.
He was attracted to my accessories and I, his multichromatic stare.
Sparks flew and we became instant friends.

Lina Casale is an artist from Colombia who paints gorgeous murals and large pieces on canvas. She started using a new medium, shown here- leather & vegan leather clutches, and is now making tons of one-of-a-kind art pieces that anyone can wear and make their own. I love the vibrant colors and characters she paints and encourage you to check it out too. She is super sweet and clearly passionate about every piece of her work. Find her art here, and her clutches in the above link.

Two of the best summer basics are denim shorts and a plain white tee. A white tee can take you almost anywhere, whether it's paired with casual shorts, dressier skirts and pants, or layered under a dress or overalls. It makes any look easygoing and casual-cool. As for denim shorts, those are an obvious go-to for any leisurely summer day, where you may find yourself walking to the park, and exploring the quieter parts of the city. The thing I love about these two pieces is that your options to accessorize are endless. I picked up this headband at one of the many boutiques in Japan, where they are popular. The gladiators are my shoes that will add some spunk to any outfit and keep things from looking plain.
PS- I was not harassing those children, contrary to what the photo may depict. I swear, they were talking to me and telling me about the turtles that were skimming the surface of the algae-blanketed pond. They liked me, really.

This is another romper I brought for my Japan trip; clearly I am a fan of the easy one-piece. The key to minimizing what you pack when traveling is taking clothes that work for both day and night. A basic black and white romper and be easily transitioned for both looks. After a day out seeing sights, all I did was swap my comfortable traipsing sneaks for party-appropriate wedges - which are dressy but still comfortable for exploring Japan the lively nightlife. I added a pendant necklace and freshened up, and that's all- I was ready to head back out of the hotel in 10 minutes.
What are your day to night tricks?
