Spring White

Shirt - H&M//necklace - Greenbeads by Emily & Ashley//shorts - Zara

The beauty of white-on-white is that you can wear it all year long.  I love this soft, sheer button-down for it's versatility.  I've swapped out my pants for shorts because it's technically spring, but maybe I'll just hang out on my windowsill until the weather matches the season.

Shopophyle - Spring 2014 Wants

Spring 2014 wants

Spring is upon us, and with the change in season comes a need for fresh pieces in rotation.  Here are my Spring 2014 Shopophyle wants!

1. Faded denimH&M denim shirt
The denim trend always comes back in the spring, and this time I'm loving the faded denim washes on shirts.

2. Orange Lippie - MAC Cosmetics makeup
I've already broken out my OCC Lip Tar in Beta, but that's for my more daring days.  This color will be more versatile for everyday wear.

3. Mini bag 3.1 Phillip Lim satchel handbag
I mean, just look at those polka dots! How can one resist?

4. Mini bag #2Elizabeth and James leather purse
Mini, bucket style, and pastel, this little number hits three different spring trends at once.

5. Culottes - Topshop
You have to be a little more daring to pull these off, but paired with the right pieces, it can be done gracefully.

6. Embellished shades - Dsquared2
These instantly make any outfit more fun, while still looking sophisticated and glamorous.  I'll be dreaming about the Swarovski-encrusted beauties while I look for a more affordable version.

7. Pastel blue color - Essie nail polish in Truth or Flare
This is one of my favorite spring colors, and a manicure is the easiest way to incorporate it into a look.  Listed as a "vintage blue denim", it is just begging to be paired with my h&m shirt [#1], don't you think?

8. Colorful kicks New balance shoes
I have no qualms about the current moment that bright, colorful kicks are having (nor do my feet).  This spring I'm going to (comfortably) explore more into what kind of creative fun heel-less shoes have to offer.

What's on your list of Wants this spring?

Bloggers, Baubles, & Brunch

This past weekend I attended a cozy little blogger brunch hosted by the lovely Staci of Leather & Leops.   We gathered at her SoHo apartment to check out the beautiful collections from the Emily and Ashley jewelry line.  These two sisters started their line 15 years ago, with a statement jewelry line called Greenbeads, of which their first piece was created by coincidence.  They then found inspiration from the vintage pieces in their grandmother's jewelry trunk.  From there they flourished and developed a wide spectrum of designs, ranging from classic to trendy, but all with a vintage feel, including many gorgeous pieces made with precious and semiprecious stones.  In the setting of Staci's perfectly decorated apartment, with champagne cocktails and sparkling pieces, there couldn't have been a better way to spend my Sunday.

How perfectly does that elephant bangle blend in with Lauren's gorgeous arm party?

Winter Garden

Skirt - Anthropologie//necklace - Topshop//shoes - Delman
tops (it's actually a dress - or two - layered!) - American Apparel

I wore this outfit on day 2 of fashion week.  I absolutely love this tulle skirt, it makes me want to frolic around all day like a carefree princess.  One can dream...with the help of her wardrobe.  It's amazing how one piece can transform you and take your imagination elsewhere.  And how lovely is this whimsical eye makeup, done by the talented Jenn Chen?

We got a little silly, and I decided to envelope myself in the top layer of my skirt.  What fun is it if you don't mess around a little? ;)
